Superintendent

Steve is a sympathetic Superintendent.  His dual major in life is woodworking and psychology. “I love construction. I went to school for finish carpentry. It's what I'm good at. It makes me happy.  People don’t get the opportunity to work with their heads and their hands much anymore. What I do requires me to work with both. I can see details in a project that are there…and details that aren’t there, yet. I can take a sketch and transform it into a work of art. It’s a very personal thing. At BayPoint, we're treated as individuals. Our opinions really count and we treat our clients the same way.”

Dover, MA – Located on the Charles River, a large section of this home had to be demolished and rebuilt due to a poorly built addition constructed in the 1960’s.  The new addition incorporates the original 1920’s architecture and includes a first floor family room, a second floor master bedroom suite and a third floor bedroom, gymnasium and bathroom.  Due to the close proximity to the Charles River, a new retaining wall was constructed to adhere to the strict requirements of the conservation commission.  This entire project was completed while owner occupied.

Wellesley, MA - Complete interior and exterior renovation and addition to a residence located in the Wellesley historical district (Circa 1884). BayPoint was involved in this project during the pre-construction and design phase. We worked with the owners, architect and historic commission members resulting in an un-compromised design that satisfied the owner, national register of historic homes, and the town officials. A large addition was extended off the back of the house to add on a family media room and commercial-grade custom kitchen. The entire exterior was stripped to reveal remaining period details, which were restored. Custom milled interior and exterior trim were created to match existing antique details.

Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA – Addition and renovations to a 1960’s international style contemporary home including a 2-car garage, guest suite, music room and a stair tower with a study at the top.  In order to build the foundation for the addition, BayPoint had to blast into solid granite adjacent to the main house.  The owner required precise architectural detail for both the exterior and interior.  Exterior stone cladding and an aged copper curved roof gracefully enhance the original structure.   The schist stone for the curtain wall entry, found in only one place in the world, Ashfield, Massachusetts, was carefully hand selected.  Extensive glazing was added to the rear of the house to take advantage of the magnificent view over the town and harbor.  The interior included an elegant cherry ceiling and cherry cabinetry, a see-through fireplace, a new HVAC system, and extensive indirect lighting details to enhance the architecture.

Wenham, MA – Renovations and addition of a new formal entry and powder room to this colonial home.  The new picturesque entry consists of an exterior portico, custom mahogany doors and a cathedral ceiling, Venetian plastered walls and Brazilian walnut flooring with a herringbone inlay. The new formal powder room contains walls and cabinetry covered with fabric wrapped panels, mahogany trim, and an accent wall of book-matched stone.  The renovations also included an ornate decorative plaster ceiling in the dining room, existing bathroom renovations, and a gut and rebuild of a new gourmet kitchen. A 22-foot long steel beam had to be added to further support the existing kitchen and first floor.  The beam and steel columns were skillfully hidden in the architectural archways of the home and blend flawlessly with the design.  This project was completed while the home was occupied by the owners.

Firefly Farm, LLC – Renovated and maintained three properties including homes, barns and riding arenas encompassing 125 acres and oversaw the spa, pool and grounds. Built two horse run-in sheds on conservation trust land by gaining consensus among conservation trust committee, building inspectors and lawyers. Successfully managed land expansion projects, which included land clearing, excavating and leveling land, installing wells and sprinkler systems, hydro seeding for increased useable pastures and lawns.  Troubleshooting and repairing of property problems including carpentry, plumbing and electrical along with selecting and managing subcontractors such as painters, plumbers and electricians.

Aztec Construction – Managed multiple residential and commercial construction projects and the hiring and scheduling of subcontractors to achieve project deadlines.  Built and installed high-end built-in cabinetry.  Installed windows, doors, kitchen cabinets and countertops.  Planned, constructed and performed finish work on a complex residential remodeling project.  Project was comprised of a two-story kitchen and sunroom addition as well as remodeling family room, master and secondary bathrooms.  Reviewed photos with client to design custom cabinet and finish work details.  Constructed and installed cabinets.

Cummings Properties – Managed subcontractors to perform within design specifications.  Demolished interior of building to prepare for new layout and configurations.  Framed interior using metal studs and installed finish work including windows, doors, trim and cabinets.

SF Construction – Designed projects based on customers ideas and needs.  Constructed bathrooms, kitchens, basement build-outs, porches and decks.  Installed tile, hardwood floors, hardware, painting and wallpaper, etc. and plumbing and electrical fixtures.
